Johannes Weberling left Kaiserslautern, for America, with his wife, Maria, and a new little daughter on the 24 May 1751. On the 5 Sept. 1751 the ship, Elizabeth, landed in Philadelphia. This ship brought 130 Palatine emigrants from Rotterdam to America. Two of the people on that ship were Johannes Weber and Peter Weber (Johannes's father's name was Peter Weberling). Kaiserslautern was part of the Palatine region and because of the time frame and the similarity of the names, this was probably the ship that they sailed on. They settled in York County, Pennsylvania.

Like many emigrants coming to America, it was common to change the spelling of your name, and so Johannes Weberling became John Weaverling. John lived with his family for seven years in York County and had two boys and another girl. He died Sept. 1757 or 58, leaving a young family in a new land. Maria, John's wife, married John H. Messerschmidt in 1760 and together they had 4 children, 3 girls and a boy.
