It is said that it takes every citizen to keep a nation free. Descendants of John Weaverling have been diligent in keeping this a free nation in which to live. They have participated in every major conflict the United States has been in, from the Revolutionary War to the current day. Because all of the Weaverlings also descend through John Peter Weaverling, the son of John Weaverling, and because he was in the Revolutionary War, any descendant can join the Daughters of the American Revolution or the Sons of the American Revolution.
